Around the House-

Sit N' Knit

A Mixed Bag

This weekend was a mixed bag of crafting, visiting with friends, going to a concert, and canning produce. First up, it was Sit ‘N Knit on Saturday and we all got together and enjoyed each other’s company. We also managed to have a coffee pot completely stump 5 of us and never could get it working. Technology is great when it works and enough to drive you batty when it doesn’t. I brought the tea towel with me and made some decent progress on that.

After Sit ‘N Knit and a short nap, we headed to Lebanon, KY where there was a Jimmy Buffett tribute concert happening. We were invited by one of Brian’s coworkers, and it was a lot of fun even if it did try to rain us out. We tried to put on our best parrothead show.

On Sunday, I worked on preserving some food from the garden and the CSA box that we subscribe to. I shucked seven ears of corn and stripped the kernels off of each one of them. That ended up providing enough kernels to can 4 pints of corn. I also had an abundance of summer squash that had come from the plants, so I decided to try and make some summer squash relish. I was able to make four pints of relish, so 8 pints of fresh produce was canned and preserved on Sunday. I also did some weeding in the garden, but that’s not super exciting to write about!

After another short nap, I worked on the diamond painting. I’m about half way through this one now. I’m enjoying it, but it does have a few issues. I’ll do a review of the whole thing when I get it all done.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends!

Stay crafty!
