I’m still working on as many crafts as I can right now while the Tour de France is on. I actually even did a tad bit of spinning on Sunday, but not enough to be able to show much of a difference in the bobbin. But, I did manage to get quite a bit accomplished this weekend.
First, I finished up the kitchen towel and also knitted up two dishcloths to match it. I figure this will be a nice set to give someone for a housewarming gift or something similar.
Also, I had these cute labels in my stash from a ways back and decided it added a nice touch to the towel.
On the finishing side of things, I also finished the diamond painting tray. First, here’s the actual diamond painting.
And here’s the finished tray. Unfortunately, the tray itself is very wobbly. I’m going to have to see if I can figure out a way to secure it better so that it can actually be used. As it is now, it’s purely decorative, which defeats the purpose of getting this tray kit.
Since that cleared off the dining table, I decided it was time to break out the Sentro knitting machine and play around with making some hats while Brian tried to figure out the rules to a board game that he wants to play very soon. I made two hats with it, but both are really too small for an adult, so these will go into the pile of things to sell at the next craft market, or they will be donated, depending on whatever comes first. The machine is very easy to use and I learned a lot by making mistakes on the first two hats. Sometimes, well, most times, we learn far more from our mistakes than our successes!
And finally, I started a new cross stitch. I wanted something to work on while on the couch watching TV with Brian, so I found this little kit that I apparently picked up on the clearance rack at Michaels for a whopping $2.50. It’s a scene of downtown Tokyo, so I think this will become a Christmas gift for my niece who is obsessed with all things Japan right now.
As you can see, I was busy this weekend and Delilah is exhausted. There’s a reason for that, but that is for another post about the misadventures of Delilah on Sunday. I enjoyed every minute of crafting this weekend! This is the kind of busy I could definitely get used to. If only it paid the bills…
