This weekend was absolutely wonderful. On Friday, the knitting group all got together and traveled to the Red River Gorge for our third annual knitting retreat. It was a blast. Before we left, I bottled up the mead that has been brewing for a while. I thought about bringing a bottle with me, but when I did a taste test, decided it would be better to let it age a little more in the bottle before bringing it out.

We arrived at the cabin in the afternoon and immediately started working on a fire. Unfortunately, there was no firewood provided, but being the improvisers that we are, we found enough dry branches and such to have a nice little fire going. We tried to use a giant log and that actually worked out far better than I think any of us thought it would.

We had a nice dinner of vegetable soup, homemade sourdough bread, and brie cheese. The next day would be both our annual craft and also an excursion into the town of Campton to look at some pottery, but that is a tale for tomorrow!

Stay crafty!
