Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2026! A lot happened while I was gone from the blog, so I’ll probably spend a chunk of this week recapping what happened and whatnot over the break.

Christmas day, Brian and I went over to my parents and grandfather’s house for a family open house. We also gave my dad his present, which was a robotic cat that is designed for alzheimer’s patients to help calm them when they are wound up. He was a little confused at first about getting a cat, but my mother texted me the next day and said he was walking around with it everywhere and even said that it was a good cat, so I think it was a hit!

It’s always nice to be with family, and especially this guy!

We opened up presents with my family. I think Brian was rather excited.

The next day, we met up with Brian’s family at our house to celebrate Christmas. It was good to get together with them all, even if it was a day later.

We had other plans with Brian’s family two days later. Brian surprised them all with tickets to go see Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas. They seemed to enjoy the show.

We even posed with the cutout of Dolly.

Brian had to get his own picture, of course!

We ended the year on a sad note with the passing of Regina, our oldest cat. She crossed the rainbow bridge on the 30th at home and I was thankful that I was able to be there with her for her last breath. It’s much quieter around the house without her there. She was at least 16 years old, possibly older, but it’s still hard to lose a fur friend like that.

Tomorrow, I’ll update on some of the crafting that occurred.

Stay crafty!
