I was sitting at lunch in the dining hall when I saw a middle school visit come in the cafeteria. We get these visits on a fairly regular basis this time of year when eighth graders come to campus and get to see what different types of colleges are like. When I looked up at the line, I did a double take. I saw a girl in earmuffs. It is not cold enough for earmuffs yet, and I only know one kid around that age that wears them as a fashion statement. I decided I needed to take a look and see if it was who I thought it was.

Yep, it was my niece, Lexi! She and her class had come here for a visit. They weren’t allowed to have phones on the trip, so she said she couldn’t text me to say they were coming to where I work. It was fun to get to see her outside of the normal family get togethers, especially since she and her sister were big parts of our lives when they were littler. That truly made my day!

I also got some spinning done, which was nice. I hadn’t been able to get much done the past month or so, which means that it’s just been staring at me, waiting to be worked on. I finally decided I needed to do a little bit of spinning while Brian worked on photographs.

This is the green version of the purple that I spun a month or so ago. I’m hoping to combine them somehow when it is all spun up to create something nice. I just need to see how much yardage I get out of the roving before deciding what to make. We also have had much more activity on the cat tree recently, so I thought I would share the two meezers hanging out together.

Stay crafty!
