Sorry I’m late on my post today, but I’m off work this week and I’m enjoying the sleeping in, the organizing, and the time with Brian since he works from home on Mondays.
This weekend was jam packed with events for me and Brian. We are normally not big into going out and being in large crowds of people, but since our birthdays were earlier this month, we had each picked up tickets to an event to give to the other. We just didn’t realize that both events would fall on the same weekend!
On Friday night, we went to go see the Lexington Theater Company’s production of A Christmas Story: The Musical. It was a fun show and we really enjoyed it. We were not familiar with any of the songs, so we were able to enjoy the lyrics for the very first time while watching the production. They had props you could post with before you went into the theater, so of course we had to use the pole for a picture. I triple dog dare you!
On Saturday night, we had tickets to go see REO Speedwagon and Loverboy at Rupp Arena. It was a sold out show and may possibly be one of the last concerts that REO will be doing as they have hinted at retirement now that they are all in their 70s. The show was phenomenal and we really enjoyed it.
Sunday, we crashed. We had our year’s allotment of large crowds in a 48 hour period. Neither of us really like being in crowds, so we enjoyed not being in any on Sunday. We sat around and did a whole lot of nothing, although for me, that does include doing a whole lot of knitting, or in this case, crocheting. But that will be a post for tomorrow’s blog!
