On Saturday, we had a celebration at the Sit ‘N Knit gathering. L, B, and I all conspired together to figure out what to get for H and S since both of them have birthdays this week. L decided on some fiestaware for H and I decided on some sock yarn I dyed for S. B was going to pick up some sweet cakes for the celebration.
We all arrived at nearly the same time to L’s home which was rather funny given we came from three different locations. While the attempt at having candles on sticky buns ended up failing due to the breeze outside, we sang, watched H and S open gifts, and then enjoyed each other’s company and friendship for the rest of the morning.
I would like to wish H and S happy birthdays and here’s to many more in the future that we can all celebrate together!
Saturday evening, Brian and I drove to Bardstown to see the Stephen Foster story. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the production. Given some of the controversy surrounding Stephen Foster, I thought they did a very good job of addressing some of that with character dialogue.
The show was very pretty to watch with the colorful dresses, musical numbers, and the setting sun. The amphitheater was very nice, so we may very well go back to watch other shows next summer when they open up their season again. Saturday was the closing night for the show for this season.
Saturday was jam packed, and Sunday was equally busy, but that’s a post for another day!
