Burgoo Festival

On Saturday, we decided to go try something different and drove to Lawrenceburg to attend their annual burgoo festival.

A woman and a man pose for a selfie in front of a colorful mural that celebrates Lawrenceburg's history, featuring the town's name, images of local landmarks, and the years 1820-2020.

What is burgoo, you may ask? It’s basically a stew with a little of everything thrown in it with a tomato base. The one we took home with us had pork and chicken, green beans and corn, and a tomato puree base. It was quite yummy, especially with some cornbread.

The festival had music going, so we listened to a few acts while we were there.

A person in a gray t-shirt stands next to a person dressed in a Bigfoot costume, both smiling and posing for the camera in an outdoor festival setting.

It also had a Bigfoot roaming around for some reason. Brian found his kindred spirit.

Oh, and I also did some knitting when we got home. Here’s the current status of the sweater in progress.

Stay crafty!
