I thought it would be fun today to just talk about a few of my favorite things from the New York trip. First, I visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral and attended mass there. The church is gorgeous and the homily was definitely a good lesson.

The rest of these photos are from me geeking out at the American Museum of Natural history. This iconic display in the main lobby has been on my bucket list for a long time!

Also, this was and is still my favorite dinosaur of all time. Deinonychus. First time seeing a real display and not just a casting!

Brian and I had to get a picture with the oldest mounted T-Rex. I was geeking out because of descriptions of this dinosaur from The Dinosaur Heresies and the impact that book had on my life as a kid.

Finally, we saw the Star of India. I have a connection to this gemstone in that one of the guys who stole the jewel in the late 60s was ordained a priest at the same time as my dad when I was 13 years old. My dad had been his social worker and counselor for a work release program and Murph ultimately ended up going into the ministry.
