Peaceful Weekend

Despite Friday trying to unravel any presumptions I had about a peaceful weekend, I did actually relax a little bit.

A fishing rod is positioned over a calm lake with a rocky shoreline and trees in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Friday evening, I hit the lake and went fishing. I had exactly one nibble and no fish were caught, but that wasn’t the point. I just wanted to be out by the water, and I did get great entertainment by watching a father and son duo chatting back and forth. The kid asked if his dad would give him $20 if he caught a fish with his bare hands. The father, sure that this would never happen, said sure. I kid you not, that boy went down to the edge of the water and studied the fish for about 15 minutes and then his little hand darted in the water and pulled out a tiny bluegill that had no earthly idea what had just happened to him. The kid ran back to his father, triumphant in his lucky catch, and retrieved his $20. The father was stunned, as was I.

Saturday was the meeting of the Sit ‘N Knit and I realized we didn’t take any pictures. We celebrated L’s birthday and ate some lovely food. It was a good time, even if there is no picture proof!

Sunday, I went to church and was just struck at how pretty the stained glass was since the sun was hitting it just right. The picture here doesn’t do it justice, but it was just one of those peaceful moments where you sit back and soak it all in.

Stay crafty!
