Beading

Prayer Beads

Last night I decided to make a new set of prayer beads. These are called Anglican prayer beads, or sometimes called the Anglican Rosary. When I was in college, I used to make these all the time for people at my grandparent’s church since I had gone to a class put on by the Daughters of the King Society there.

These are actually super easy to make and just involve some thread and beads, and if you have it, a bead needle.

I chose white agate for the invitatory bead and the cruciform beads (those are the big ones). I chose agate from India for the week beads. I used some glass seed beads for the spacers.

Overall, the project took less than an hour. I’ll probably be making a few more of these in the near future, so I’ll post a tutorial when I can get Brian to take some pictures of the process.

Stay crafty!
