Yesterday I took a half day at work since Luna was still going to be at the house. In the afternoon, she got her first parallel parking lesson from Uncle Brian. Here he is explaining the concept with Hot Wheels cars before she got in the actual car to practice.
We drove both cars to an open parking lot and parked one, set up a cone to represent the other car that would be parked, and then Brian and Luna were off. I’ll be the first to admit that I am terrible at parallel parking, so I was quite happy that Brian was taking the lead on the training. By the time we were done about an hour later, Luna was parallel parking almost like a pro. She managed not to hit a car or a cone, so that was a big win. We even had a police officer who was parked by the lot grinning at us as they watched the constant backing up, turning wheels, and then straightening up.
And for a crafting update, this is where the travel sock is at this point. I actually worked on the tissue box cover last night, but completely forgot to grab any photos. The top is done and I’m now working on one of the long sides.
