Yesterday morning I had an opportunity to take a trip with the Bluegrass Rail Explorers and the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce. My coworker Carrie and I decided that this would be an outing that we wanted to go to, so we jumped on it as soon as they sent out invitations.
Rail Explorers use old railroad lines to hold pedal bike tours. This one was about ten miles round trip. The bikes have an electric assist and it was quite fun to get that up to ten miles an hour!
The turnaround point was a beautiful view of Highbridge and the surrounding areas. We got a tad bit wet on the way since it decided to have a brief rain shower while we were riding, but by the end of the trip we were all dry again.
It was fun. It was a great way to start off the day with the Women of Woodford group. I do have to admit that I’m a little sore this morning since this used muscles that I normally don’t use as much. I would do it again in a heartbeat though!
